Wayne Barlowe was born in 1958 in Glen Cove, NY and later attended the Cooper Union School of Art in New York City.

He is a world-renowned artist specializing in science fiction, fantasy, and horror.  His works have appeared on numerous book covers, as concept work for Hollywood blockbusters, as well as art galleries.  His most notable book works are Barlowe’s Guide to Extraterrestrials where he visualizes aliend from many popular works of science fiction, Barlowe’s Inferno where he visualizes (disturbingly) the vivid horrors of Hell, and Expedition where he visualizes an expedition to the planet Darwin IV in 2358.
